I also have a Garmin 770 that I got after I had used Randmcnally just to see what the difference was... it's just a GPS right?
Get a Randmcnally.. the Garmin does have more updates... cause they pushed it to early. If you had both in the truck and are searching for a truck stop or rest area the RM will show a lot more... the Garmin will tell you nothing is around for miles as you pass truckstops..
Just my two cents... And I'm about to buy another gps..
There was a guy looking for Beta testers for Tom-Tom on this forum last year. They sent me 2 of them for free. 😀 I just saw the adverts for this unit in a Love's restroom last week. Looks like they've finally made it to market.

I'm a T-T-Tester. I sent an email asking to add a couple of trucking friends about a month ago. The reply was they aren't looking for more testers now.
So I talked to a prospective company and they said they have a GPS program on their qualcom. So now my question is wether I should consider that system as reliable, or if I still need to get my own unit. As far as reading a paper map goes, I can follow along , but I don't know about figuring out routes.

I have a Garmin Dezel 770. It's OK. Gives alerts about upcoming weigh stations, state borders, sharp curves, and changes in the speed limit. Also provide free real time traffic thanks to a receiver built in the power cord. My main problem is with the routing itself. It willing say several roads are truck restricted and thus won't route you on them despite the roads being open for trucks. Recent example is Carlisle PA where all the truck stops are, and how you get to I81. The Garmin said I was on a no truck road.
