Welcome to hell!
Just take your time, four ways on if you need to go extra slow. Don't be afraid to ask for help or additional training when your done if you feel you need it. I did the same as I was having problems shifting too and was lucky enough to be given an automated transmission truck and I've excelled!
Learning this career takes ALOT of patience. Just give it time, keep calm, and stay sharp.
Yup, highway mode for the most part is the easiest and large city traffic a challenging beast lol. Gotta love Philly, Chicago, Atlanta, etc. My personal "faves".
But it does indeed get "easier" or rather not as stressful.
Here's a quick tip. It's perfectly normal to be nervous. I've been going strong for 6mo and I'm nervous EVERY DAY. But the way I see it, it's an internal safety feature that keeps you prepared for any situation that can happen. Cruising down the interstate on a clear sunny day with music blarring? How I try and catch you off guard and randomly hit a pothole and have a steer tire blowout.
Be prepared for it, but don't let it psyche you out, and don't ever become too relaxed. That's how accidents happen.

How is Atlanta stressful? No one is moving, EVER!!!

Well... It's been 4 days out there and I gotta say this stuff is tuff! Cruzin on down the highway is the easy part but when I get off at those ramps... It's on! Had to go onto Clifton nj today and was freckin out! I can't believe I didn't hit anything! Or get shot because I was goin so slow! Between all the computer stuff and the loads I barley have time to poop!! Also I have a fault in my truck that makes my speed gauge not work ! (Going to oc to get fixed) I'm a rookie I still need that to know when to shift! All kidding aside I knew it would be hard as hell at first and would get easier with time. Even tho it's been crazy I am enjoying it! I keep ya updated and am sure I'll need your help! Thanks
