Haha may be! Every once in awhile a company driver here scores a Pete, but we run mostly freightliners. Hope I get to try one someday.
If you seem to be running tighter on your schedules I would do some careful monitoring of the miles you are getting per shift and discuss with your dispatcher if need be. Keep a close eye on what your student is getting done while you sleep too. Maybe they are taking more breaks or running slower when you don't have an eye on em. They probably won't cover quite as many miles as you do, but if it's top gear running the interstate they should be close.
I wouldn't call mine a "score"! I had to wait a week for the shop to fix it so I could leave the terminal. I've since been at TA shops 3 times. Oh, I've only been solo 2 weeks, not counting the week at the terminal. In all honesty, though, it's not really the Pete that keeps clunking, it's just everything attached to it. I take it in stride though. It's a ****. brown 2015 Pete I affectionately call Demon Turd!
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Commercial trade, business, movement of goods or money, or transportation from one state to another, regulated by the Federal Department Of Transportation (DOT).
How affectionate lol
I read the entire thread and unless I missed it there's a few obvious questions to ask.
1. Is the FL governed at the exact same speed as the Pete or is it just 'close'.
2. Are the fuel tanks the same? If you only have say, twin 90 gallon tanks vs. twin 120s then yes you would obviously be filling up more often.
3. Though another just mentioned it, you didn't say if your truck can be used in manual mode. I would hope so.
Automatic Jakes on for following distance? I'd be annoyed at that too. Areas where Jake's aren't allowed? Crappy weather? Activate at awkward speeds? Doesn't sound right to me.
I drive a 2017 FL Auto and it pulls hills fine fully loaded. Makes a difference to be able to hold a gear in manual vs. the computer switching gears back and forth as the rpms rise and drop.

Economy vs performance mode just changes when the truck shifts. Economy times the shifts to increase fuel economy and performance times the shifts to accelerate faster. You can already override that completely by putting it in manual mode.
