I live within walking distance of the greenup county animal shelter and have been thinking about volunteering a little. They could probably use the help and I could use a good reference after being out of work so long. I'm still waiting to hear back from swift, prime and CR england. I did have another question though that's nagging at me. Kentucky has a new law about if you let your insurance lapse they revoke your registration and I'm afraid that has happened to me this month and I'm unable to do anything about it right now. I'm sure that will probably factor into things. Does anyone have any experience with something like that or know how its looked upon by prospective employers in the trucking world?

As long as they don't revoke your actual license you should be fine. But most states will indeed revoke your license if your insurance or registration lapse. I live in New York and they've done that for many years now. Your insurance lapses and they suspend your license.

You should probably look into that immediately. It doesn't seem like Kentucky would revoke your registration without revoking your license too. That doesn't do much good. It's entirely possible though. Maybe the legislation was a lot easier to push through the way you mentioned - who knows? But I would get it taken care of right away somehow. A lot of companies will not hire new drivers that have had their license suspended within the past 3 years. I mean, it only makes sense. If you're going to make a career as a professional driver they want to make sure you're responsible with your license and driving privileges.

Oh, and you definitely don't want to get any tickets now, which you obviously would if caught driving without insurance and registration.

I did some research and think I am ok as far as not being suspended. Here is the article I found http://www.isaacsandisaacs.com/blog/insurance/kentucky-cracking-down-on-uninsured-motor-vehicles-new-rule-starts-june-1-2012/ I haven't been driving it anyway.. it has bad tires and bad brakes and no gas. LOL I need some $$$ Still, I will call the clerks office tomorrow and let them know that my Blazer is just sitting here and see what they say about it. I'm sure they will tell me I need to get Insurance and renew the registration unless I junk it, which I don't plan on doing.
