According to my brother, who sometimes hauls grain in the fall, you should know where all the scales are, since you just might be overweight.
I haul enzymes to ethanol plants in Iowa (and elsewhere). There are always grain trucks rolling through those plants. It seems like a lot of times they are sitting and waiting a bit to be inloaded, although a couple of them at a plant told me that it's because this is the busy season.
Might be overweight?? Hahaha.. I grew up on a farm. Yes, you'll be overweight. Good luck and may the Force be with you. 2 things I'd never consider hauling.. a tanker, and grain. All that dust would be tearing up my allergies.
Will that trailer be a mack and a bottom drop?
Bottom drops are much easier but stay as far away from weight stations as you can
Bottom drop.

I will soon start a new job hauling grain for the first time. I will be hauling from grain elevators to the ethanol plants here in Iowa. Pulling hopper trailer. I want to know what to expect, be aware of, or any advice before my first day on the job?
