Well I've deleted about 1/4 of your recent comments for taking blatant shots at people needlessly so I thought you might have been referring to that. And we're having a conversation about what it's like right now in different places. Why would I delete something about that? Talk politics if that's your thing. It would explain why you live in one of the most dynamic and diverse areas in the country and yet you hate it.
Ever know anyone who's happy and into politics?

Not much time to see all of the great things about CA when you're putting in 55-65 hours in a physical job. But thats my fault.
More taxes, now the highest gas taxes (beating Hawaii for #1) on top of extremely high gas prices and stupid high cost of living. I remember going to Walmart all the time in other states then I come back home and everything is so much more expensive.
Its a very difficult place to live that's why so many people are moving out of here. Want a house in a terrible neighborhood? You're looking at 1500 per month. Good neighborhood is 2400. And I won't even meantion the Bay Area.
On top of that driving locally has its special challenges. Not many people can go 55mph and stay sane compiled with a very strict CA DoT. The 55 mph speed law is downright dangerous.
So yes, CA is wonderful if you have enough money in the bank and a few days off. Otherwise you're just busting your chops for things that are twice cheaper in most other states.
But don't get me wrong, I'm listing reasons and doing my best to not complain. After all living here is a choice. Until you live here, CA looks like a gem if you're looking at it from a different state.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
And don't worry Brett you can delete any of my posts all you want it doesn't bother me. I consider you my friend that I occasionally mess with and argue with.
Growing up in PA, I thought it was a wretched state. Pennsyl-tucky. After traveling around most of the country in my early twenties, including driving cross-country from PA to Seattle, WA, I have to say that PA is actually a beautiful state. Western PA particularly. Northern PA can be rather depressing, and anything east of the Susquehanna River (besides Lancaster County, which is beautiful), might as well be New Jersey - which is putrid.
If I could live anywhere and transfer to another OD terminal , it would be in Washington State. I fell in love with Washington - anything west of the Cascades.
Taking Highway 1 down the coast into Northern CA was beautiful, but I know the cost of living goes up when you move from Washington to Cali.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

Agreed, PA is gorgeous. Im not a big fan of the layout for the interstates. Just seems so much harder than it has to be to get from one interstate to another. But I can overlook that no problem besides its a lot easier when you become familiar with it.
As far as Washington state. Love that place. My wife actually has cousins living there.

Hi Rainy. I hope all is well. I'm in that north Jersey area you speak of. Not quite Jersey City area, but right around Union County. Quite a few freight lanes running right through Linden and northward.
