Wishing everyone a safe & happy Memorial day! To those that have fallen, I salute you. 🇺🇸
Amen to that 1000 times!
As someone who has exercised all of those freedoms I'm super thankful to the many generations of people who struggled, took risks, and made sacrifices so that I could have it so easy and so good. I'm truly thankful and I really do my best to make the very most of it every day of my life.
I'm trying to think how to respond and not seem rude in doing so. As a Veteran, married to a Veteran and son of a Veteran, please don't thank us today. Veterans Day is the day to give thanks ( any day is really but you know what I mean). It's not that it isn't appreciated but Memorial Day is the day to remember and give thanks to all of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Like I said, it's not trying to be rude or mean but some folks don't realize what today is really about and there are quite a few of us who will say, don't thank me, I'm lucky enough to still be here.
Do enjoy the holiday though, spending time with family, cooking out or whatever you find yourself doing.
Thank you to all servicemen and women, retired, passed on, and active duty for everything theyve done so i can post this comment. Every single one of you havr made it possible for us to have our lives and the chance to maximize our potential.
Wish there was a saluting smiley i could put here.

I'm enjoying a beautiful start to Memorial Day 2017 and am thinking about the freedoms we enjoy and take for granted. The freedom to decide what to do on this national holiday, where to go, whom to spend it with. The freedom to travel when and where we wish, to choose a career, to start a business, where to live. The freedom to worship as we choose. The freedom to speak freely. The freedom to choose whether or not to serve in the military. I am mindful of the sacrifices our freedom requires.
To our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen and women: thank you for your service and sacrifice. To our Gold Star families, may you find peace. To anyone who has lost a relative, a friend, a neighbor, a battle-buddy, or comrade in military service, today is their day - and today is your day.
From me and my family, may we offer a simple and wholly inadequate, "thank you."
