Back in December I was so excited when I decided to do this that I applied for Prime and got numerous call backs from the recruiter guy right away. Woohoo! But then I realized that, realistically, certain things needed to be resolved and wrapped up before I can leave home. I left a message for him, expressed gratitude for the call backs, and said I would contact him when ready.

At last I'm close to true readiness but wonder if I should fill out a new application online since its been so long? I don't even think I have the recruiter's number anymore. I had saved it for a while but think I deleted it by accident.

Call Prime and tell them what happened and why. It doesn't sound like what you did is a big deal and they'll advise you on what to do.

They had me fill out a new application when I finished school. No big deal. I called and talked to the recruiter and he emailed me a link that I used. Most of the info was already there and I just needed to add what had changed

Thank you. I'm probably not the first person who realized they had a few more things to wrap up at home before they go on the road.

Oh no doubt.

My school was night school and took four months. They wanted something more current so just had me fill one out when I got my CDL.

I filled it out Saturday and on Monday I had been approved and set a date for orientation.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
