Bad SWR - either a poor antenna match to the frequencies, or a poorly grounded system. That your SWR changes when you touch the antenna, you most likely have a poor ground.
Ensure the chassis of your radio is grounded and the antenna is as well, and your SWR should improve.
Take it to a CB shop and have them work on it for you. If it is a ground issue, they should be able to fix it easily for you.
Depending on the truck you drive, it could be as simple as grounding the antana with a wire to the frame.. if you have like a frieght liner, then Good luck.. damn trucks are mostly fiberglass now.... trying to ground it it is a pain.... i just get one of those antana mounts for the mirror;
and it grounds pretty good IMO...
That's what I have, could it be that I put the factory torque back on instead of using the bolts in the package?
