I have never used the Quallcomm for GPS, its garbage.
A rather strong opinion for a device you have "never used."
I have used the Quallcomm device for many years sir. And after years of tinkering and testing with the GPS side of the device I have come to my conclusion.
Aren't there multiple programs for GPS with QC's? I've seen people here that swear by theirs, but I've given the one in my companies trucks a try several times and had bad experiences every single time with bad routing, missed stops, etc. The QC on my current truck didn't get the program installed so I can't give it another shot at the moment, but the last two trucks it was pretty sub-par.

The program is Navi-Go. Its pretty rare for a QC to have a GPS but not be using Navi-Go.
I use a Rand McNally but I've noticed when comparing routes I usually get one the matches up pretty well with my desired route but the other one I get will be sometimes an hour or more longer. Frustrating at times when I know of several choices there are routes that are safe and shorter.

I have a love hate relationship with the Navigo on the Qualcomm. I love the fact that it will route us to the proper entrance for the trucks instead of just the main address. With that being said I hate the fact that it loses it's signal so much and god forbid you ever miss a turn and have to use the reroute feature because that can take forever and when it does reroute it can put you in some pretty tricky situations. I trip plan and write down everything that I need to so that I can get to my destination and use it as a tool primarily to make sure the Qualcomm directions match up with the Navigo. However with all the trip planning in the world sometimes things happen and you need to reroute due to accidents, road closures, or even missing a turn. This is where the Navigo usually becomes useless.
Icecold24k beat me to it. The QC/Navigo's advantage is you'll probably be directed to the right place to enter, not just out front at the company sign. But that manual re-route might run you off a bridge before the new routing comes back.
Also those automatic, un-announced re-boots, especially the full "Ctrl-Alt-Del" style on the QC, will drive you crazy when you're in the middle of Dallas, TX!
I used the QC/Navi-Go almost exclusively. For me the were rare problems, but it seldom mis-guided me. It saves recent address, as well as the ones downloaded. Now I do have a Tom-Tom Truck GPS. This one includes traffic reporting and re-routes. Today it saved me an hour sitting in stalled traffic with a re-route.

OldRookie, you've been pretty terse and unhelpful the last few days I've noticed. How about you stick to giving advice when you feel you have something worthwhile to offer. We don't need your smart*ss remarks on everything under the sun.
