Hi everyone I am starting a log for Coastal Truck Driving School.
I haven't found any reports on this school so I hope it may benefit someone else. The school has several locations in Louisiana.
I am still a few weeks to a month from starting as of right now so it will be awhile before I update. I am in the process of applying for financial aid from the state to attend it. Since I earn a low wage and am part time I am eligible for workforce development aid which will pay the full cost of the school.
The school is a bit pricey. It is roughly $5700 when financed through the school. A minimum of $1500 is a required down payment then the rest is paid off 30 days after you graduate at a rate of $250 a month.
When not financed through the school and paid off with cash upfront or a personal loan it is roughly 4700.
It does have the benefit of having free living quarters onsite. They also help with job placement before during and after school.
The course is 16 days with either weekday or weekend classes.
The person I spoke with at the school was very polite and did an good job of explaining any questions I had.
When I asked about the graduation rate it was simply said "We don't take on students to have them fail, if you are having trouble with a particular thing we can give you a few extra days to work on things"
It was a nice clean building, although a bit small, with a a good sized lot in the back with several new looking trucks and trailers.
I think that is all I have for this post I will update no later than 4 weeks once I move forward with the next step
Any input is appreciated and I hope this helps someone out now or in the future regarding this school
