Thanks everyone.

Daniel I'd be honored to put in a good word but WV as I'm sure you know is a whole other world compared to Cali. As the saying around here goes, be sure to type slow cuz we don't read that fast lol.

Minnis, I like that plan they have for you. I just hope they stick with it. I know people have a tendency toward wishful thinking, and in trucking people are always pushing the envelope.

I'm just afraid before your first week is up you'll hear, "Listen, Joe has to go get a different piece of equipment from Job Site A so we're going to send you to Job Site B to get yours. You can handle it, right? Just give Joe a call if you run into any trouble and take your time."

You're going to be thinking about me when that happens, and you're gonna be like, "Damn, that Brett sure does seem to have a crystal ball sometimes."

Like I said, just take it real slow and never "just go for it" when you're in a situation you're unsure of. Make some phone calls and get help with a game plan.

Hey, you would do well to go through these two sections in the High Road Training Program:

Flatbed Cargo Securement

New York State Coil Endorsement

The flatbed securement section is of course exactly what you're going to be doing. Make sure you go through that completely. That New York State coil endorsement section also has a ton of super valuable information about securing small but extremely heavy pieces of cargo.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

If this happens I am 110% blaming you and your devilish trucker magic lol.

I'll be sure to go through those 2 sections. Need to run through hazmat as well so I can finish up my endorsements when my back check comes in. It's already paid for so why not go ahead and get it right?

HAZMAT:

Hazardous Materials

Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
