Your best bet honestly may be to get with a recruiter and ask what is available near you. Werner has many dedicated accounts and they change so much such as runs, accounts, if they are hiring for them or not. They will usually have the most up to date info on this for you.
If there is a Wenger driver here, can you tell me what accounts are available around zipcode 76542?
Dollar tree in Marietta Oklahoma
Family dollar in Duncan Oklahoma
Family dollar in Odessa Texas
Dollar general in Ardmore Oklahoma
Van 48 state solo
TBH Blake, the dollar accounts are not good accounts for rookies. They have very difficult backing situations and you unload the trailers. I do NOT recommend them. If they think I am crazy just take a drive in the country and in the nearest city and look at the dollar generals and dollar trees.
Imagine trying to back into a small parking lot, with an entrance that is NOT made to accommodate a semi truck. Now throw in the general retarded impatient motoring public. Trying to pass you on the street as you back in. Not to mention the morons that will think it is a great idea to try and squeeze by you to get in or out of the stores parking lot. Then the idiots will act incredulous after your run their tin can clunker over.
I have to agree with Patrick, I live in a very rural area here in Texas, we have a Family Dollar and up the road in another small town is a Dollar General. I have spent some time watching the Drivers working in those lots and its absolutely insane, always wanted to talk with one of them but they just looked too stressed out once they jumped out of the cab. Shoot, I have a Long Bed Pick up and a car hauler flatbed and it was crazy getting in and out of those lots in one piece. Sure you can understand you share the road with other Texas drivers.
So here's the companies that my school has some sort of agreement with, they send your info to all of these prior to graduation to see who offers you a possible job. I know I'm looking for some sort of dedicated account and not otr. I know Schneider does Best Buy. Schneider J.B. Hunt CRST U.S. XPRESS TMC Trans Am Werner Enterprises YRC Freight Transport America
OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.
Thanks JD!

I'm still doing research to decide between US XPRESS and Werner. Like you guys stated Werner seems to have a lot of those Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Family dollar accounts that I'm trying to stay away from. Going to call US XPRESS today to see what they have in this area.
Blake...an obvious question for you. Why not Swift? They have 14 different Dedicated Accounts in Texas. As follows:
Weyerhauser, Houston Cardinal Health, El Paso Dedicated Ops (various smaller accounts) Lancaster Home Depot, Grand Prairie, Houston, Dallas, & Baytown JCPenny, Dallas Kohls, Corsicana PepsiCo, Grand Prairie Target Reefer Ops, Denton Walmart Reefer Ops, Temple, Cleburne
My experience with Swift for the last five years has been nothing but positive, running Dedicated on the Northeast regional Walmart Grocery Account.
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
