There has been discussion about terminal rats, but what about those that I'm going to call terminal sheep dogs? The ones that aren't complaing and aren't acting like super truckers.
I'm sitting at our West Valley terminal listening to a driver explain running the clock, how to get things done etc. Meanwhile being very patient with a driver that is full of "but"s and excuses.
He is actually trying to make it better for the other driver, but the rat knows best I guess.
Terminal:
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
HOS:
Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
