Just installed my cb into a 2016 prostate. Every time I key the mic the driver over head dome/map light comes on. Any thoughts on this

Sounds like the cb power maybe tapped into that light circuit and you're having a backfeed of voltage. I would report that to the maintenance shop because something isn't right.

Most common is that there's a bad ground on the truck side or the fact that the factory coax is garbage.

As I get older, though, I'm starting to see why getting seated into a newer prostate could be a good thing.

I wish I could contribute to the actual question, but I don't know anything about all that. I know power comes from the battery into the truck, gets replenished from the alternator, and beyond that it's just magic as far as I'm concerned. So, talk to a mechanic. Or a wizard.
