Thanks
Yeah, that's a regen.
I have that kind of truck and when i use opti idle it has 2 higher rev moments, one where it goes just below 10 on the rpms which i've been told it does to charge batteries faster and then a different one where it goes above 10 which I believe is a regen.
regens suck :(
And to make you feel better, I thought the same thing the first time that happened when I was on the trainer truck. My trainer played it up, too. Got wide eyed, started cursing, and hopped out the passenger door as I hopped out the drivers door. Only instead of bolting away from the truck, he was bent over laughing watching me do it.
Haha sounds like something my second trainer would do also thanks for the replies folks

Over 4 years later, I'm sitting in a 2020 Cascadia, and still finding myself referring back to this post. I get the truck has to regen sometimes, but every damn time it starts the last 5 times for about half hour each? Really? Good thing my company is giving me a new one Saturday. Hopefully that solves my problem. I think something wrong with the DPF.

Will these trucks regen while sitting with optimized idol? And by these trucks I mean a freightliner cascadia evolution, I ask cause I'm sitting here reading when the engine revs up and the truck is shaking a good bit and I'm all "uhhhhh" is it okay? Should I bail out and run as far as I can?
