Passed CDL exam today, I am now a class A cdl license holder. I've been wanting to go to school for the last 5 years and things finally fell into place allowing me to go. To say I'm excited is an understatement. Time for the real learning to begin!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I'm going to be doing foodservice with performance food group. Home every night, hourly, off Saturday Sunday. I know it isn't the typical route people here take, and not really encouraged but due to family situation its what we feel is best at this time. They sponsored my schooling, as well as lodging, food, and 600 a week while in school so I owe them at least a year (which is recommended anyhow).
