Richard sounds like things are going well. I've been to NYC 3 times now, thank god just passing through not delivering. It would not break my heart to never go back. Just wait till you get ahold of the turnpikes in NJ and PA. Those are different than us southern boys are used to. I'm thrilled your having a great experience. It sure helps. Keep up the good work and be safe.

How is it going? My hubby and I start Schneider training on the 10th in West Memphis. We just completed CDL program at Miller Motte College in North Carolina. We are excited! One other lady from our class will also going the same time as us.We are all excited and nervous. Can't wait!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I am scheduled to start orientation & training with schneider on 1/27/2015 at the indianapolis oc. If everything goes good i will be on the wal-mart dedicated account in my hometown of london,ky. good-luck-2.gif

I'm still talking with recruiters, definitely thinking seriously on that dedicated account myself, No experience pulling or backing a big trailer like that, hopefully honing my skills on that is what I will get out of orientation. Still curious of how long you have to run with a trainer, and how long you have to stay in orientation

Hi, I am in bulk on my 10th day. I have 3 to go then up to 3 weeks with a trainer. call a recruiter to find out about dry box. good luck

Wow!!!!! I'm following this thread of information with undivided attention. I have my CDL class A permit and currently doing training with California career school to get my CDL license. my interest trucking company that I would love to work for is Schneider. I'm active duty in the Navy and due to separate next month(march15). I will be relocating to TX after I get my license. anyone have Idea about Schneider apprenticeship program? I will appreciate that.

A few people in my class got on that program, they just signed up the first day and will get a check from their v.a. benefits. Schneider will pay 80 a day. plus motel for training time.
