If you're going to quote 17-235 quote all of the relevant sections to include refs so people can draw their own conclusions

It's not a topic that's open to individual interpretation. I think the regulations are pretty clear Auggie. They didn't waive all restrictions for all trucks. I'm not going to repeat the regulations, but you do need to re-read them.

I seriously doubt anyone carrying into FL over the next few days will be hassled.

So you'll pay the fine if they are? Are you that confident?

Man, what's wrong with you? Can you not read the regulations? It's pretty clear and straightforward with its limitations. Seriously, get a grip. It's fair to say you'll never be a lawyer!

Try going in with your tandems at 42ft and let us know how it goes.

Tandems:

Tandem Axles

A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".

Nope. Never be a lawyer but I've lived through more hurricanes in Florida over the past 20 years than have been visitors to this website.

You come down bearing ferns overweight you'll get nailed. Any type of goods to aid in recovery and rebuilding you'll be good to go.

Up to you how you define that.
