Welcome Rich...this is something you really should follow-up on with your recruiter. Be very specific with them, just like you were with your post. No one here wants to render a guess, offering you incorrect information...and at least from my perspective, that's what we'd be doing, guessing.

I have been offered a job as a part time regional truck driver for Schneider in the southwest. The details they gave me are 3-4 days a week and average 2500 miles a month. If I figure 3.5 days per week on average that will put me averaging about 180 miles a day. Why so low? Will I really be sitting still that much?

Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
