I FINALLY got home so I could do my first year pay. Im missing 2 pay checks but my take home pay which is what I netted for 1 year was $33, 981.80. I would try to tell ya what I grossed but our paystubs give ya headaches and tge net is always more than the gross due to their retarted system. We get .10/cpm per diem. So thats what I took home my first year. Hopefully that helps a rookue get a realistic idea of what to expect.
Looks good, Redgator.
That is nearly twice what I am making now. I look forward to the pay raise!
Drivers are often paid by the mile and it's given in cents per mile, or cpm.
Getting paid per diem means getting a portion of your salary paid to you without taxes taken out. It's technically classified as a meal and expense reimbursement.
Truck drivers and others who travel for a living get large tax deductions for meal expenses. The Government set up per diem pay as a way to reimburse some of the taxes you pay with each paycheck instead of making you wait until tax filing season.
Getting per diem pay means a driver will get a larger paycheck each week but a smaller tax return at tax time.
We have a ton of information on our wiki page on per diem pay
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

If that was your net, would you estimate your gross to be in the $45k range?
