By the way love the site and been researching on it for the last two weeks
Steven...Sorry to hear that you aren't hearing back from the ones you picked...But the unwritten rules of job hunting have changed with time and the economy...nowadays...you put in all the applications you can....and wait 2 days, then start calling the ones you want to take you on...This site has some great links...try this one to apply online at a bunch of schools,,,all at once !! Apply For Truck Driving Jobs But more than anything...CALL 'EM BACK !!! bug em, find out what the problem is...In this economy, a sparkling employment record is a rare bird. Most folks who worked at home, just got a few letters from family. neighbors and friends that stated what you had been doing during the time you can't account for thru employment. These letters seem to work at the trucking companies...so you might do that !! But hang in there, and keep applying...theres a company out there that wants you, they just haven't met you yet...
Welcome aboard Steven!
Yap, Starcar is right - just apply like crazy to all of the Company-Sponsored Training Programs and see who gives you an opportunity. Not having a solid recent work history is going to be a small hurdle to overcome but it's totally doable.
And be persistent about calling these companies back. Fill out applications and call them every other day or so to make sure they're working on it. Otherwise it might just sit on a pile collecting dust.

A Company-Sponsored Training Program is a school that is owned and operated by a trucking company.
The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.
Thanks i swear I'm bugging the hell out of the girl at knight call at least once every two days i know before the tank in jobs looked as persistence or willing to work but now some take it as aggravating o well that's the roll of the dice i guess
Recruiters love to see people who are eager to work there. Recruiters normally get paid some sort of commission or bonus based on the number of drivers they bring into the company. So when they see someone that is eager to work there they are normally willing to work with you more closely in the hopes it will pay off for them.
So believe me, they're not going to be annoyed with you for showing you're truly interested in being there. You'll get a lot more attention and things will be pushed through more quickly because of it.

Good luck! Just go with any company willing to take you on. After some experience, a whole new world of opportunities will open up to you.
A bit off topic.
Steven, how old are you? I swear you look like a bigger version of me.

applied for multiples of the cdl sponsored training one's yet no replies or forwards to voice-mail the main one i was interested in is knight but to no avail so far. i figured it wouldn't be that bad considering my spotless record but alas my work history is standing in my way of the most of it being a stay at home dad because my wife had a promising career but things change... any advice on remedying this issue would greatly appreciated.
