I locked myself out AGAIN!! I've lost count, seriously. Luckily I was at my receiver and security had a lockout kit. So my company will know nothing about this lol. I used to keep a spare under the hood in the fuse box in Freightliners, but the International I have doesn't have that. I'll have to find a new spot for my spare.

I'm hopeless.

You need a Volvo. Mine has to be locked with the key, and therefore you can't lock yourself out.

Of course you'd probably find a way to do it! rofl-3.gif

There's a way. Lock the door from the inside while the door is open, then pull the handle out from the outside while you shut it. I bet it works.

You're right. No truck is stupid-proof. Hahaha

I must admit, my company has a system in place to help drivers like you. All of our trucks are keyed exactly the same. Just get another driver in the area to swing by and let you in. LoL

Then again, Rumor has it that our keys will work in any 2010-2012 Cascadia that is still keyed from the factory. I don't know how true it is; because, I've never had reason to try and find out.

Don't feel bad, I lock myself out every 2 weeks or so haha. Good thing I got a spare in the fuse box.

Just go to Walmart in the key section. They have those little magnetic boxes that you can stick on the frame

I use a snap hook with the truck and my padlock key. Clip it to my pants' belt loop.

Also, I never use the lock button when I leave the truck, always lock from the outside as I'm leaving.

(Once, I unknowingly pressed the lock button with my elbow (Freightliner) on my way out just to drop the trailer. Good thing that key was with me!)

One thing that has saved me is the fact that these internationals have a side box that has to be unlocked with a key lol. It made me get in the habit of putting my spare in my pocket before I get out of the truck at a shipper or receiver.

Also the fact that I've locked myself out of my personal vehicle more times than I would like to admit, gave me a habit of always checking my pocket for my key before I get out Haha.

I keep thinking that I need to get one of those hide a key boxes every time I go in Walmart, but of course I never think about it when I'm actually in Walmart!
