Wish I could help here. I trained with swift but they used a school near my house so I was able to go home each night and pack a lunch so my day to day cost was minimal. Are you going to one of their academies?

Yes I just need to figure out how much I would really need. They say you only need $150 but seems a little low.

Yes I would be going to the academies. They say they recommend $150 but that seems a little low to do a person till first pay check.

If you are not able to commute, you'll need to purchase food for a period of 3-3.5 weeks. I believe 75 per week is more realistic.

I’m going to one of the academies in janurary in North Carolina. That’s why I’m waiting until janurary so I can get enough saved

When I trained at swift you needed $150. for your CDL lic. Then you need enough to feed yourself for the time your there and for the time you were with your mentor. I took $500.00 with me and that made it through. I have heard that now you have to have your permit before going to the acadamy not sure about that I'm not with them anymore.
