Thank yall so much for the encouragement. I have decided on trying for two different companies offering CDL training, one is Maverick the other is TMC if there are any drivers on this forum who drive for these companies please let me know how you are treated as a beginning driver. Thanks again. Mickey

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Micky, you need to use different titles so we can tell your posts apart. I thought you re-posted the Truth or Lies from 2 days ago.

You can do a search (top left search box) for TMC and Maverick. I believe some members did go with Maverick a while ago.

Micky, if you're considering Maverick Transportation and TMC Transport, include Roehl Transport (Flatbed Div.) in your research if you haven't already. I was looking at the same companies and decided on Roehl. I start with them Dec. 4th for Flatbed. I asked some questions on here, too, and also posted why I chose Roehl if you're interested.
