Are videos okay? I've got a couple short ones from this week. Fed some chickens at a rest area and saw some nice cars street race right by my truck.
I'm all for sunrises and sunsets. I like to think that's when God gets out His lawn chair and watches.
Really nice shots Errol.
I like talking photos of landscapes. This one is at a rest area on I70 in Utah. Views like this are why i love driving the west 11 so much.
Messed up uploading the pic. Here it is.
Taken with my $50 smart phone. My trucks in that group.
Treasure Island, FL. There's some seriously talented sand sculptors, thought y'all might appreciate this one.
Gladhand, I really like driving the western states for the views too (though there have been some great ones in the east as well).
Here's one I took at the rest area before the Nevada State line in Utah. The salt flats are really beautiful after a rain.
The bandit was from last week, but this one is from last November. I will try to post current things going forward, I doubt anyone wants me dumping three years of trucking photos lol.
No picture, but on the trip back from Virginia I saw my second (well, the first was in darkness from 500 feet away, I could only hear it) freight train. I live 1000 feet away from Acela tracks, but no freight. Going up 81 through PA, suddenly a big BNSF Intermodal comes out from behind the hill next to the highway. Going our speed almost exactly, we were right alongside it (70mph). Then, sadly, speed limit increased to 75, and we were gone. Actually, lead loco was BNSF 5135; Here's a pic off the web:
I mainly watch Virtual Railfan cameras to see the trains.
Transporting freight using two or more transportation modes. An example would be freight that is moved by truck from the shipper's dock to the rail yard, then placed on a train to the next rail yard, and finally returned to a truck for delivery to the receiving customer.
In trucking when you hear someone refer to an intermodal job they're normally talking about hauling shipping containers to and from the shipyards and railyards.

We all have some pretty cool moments in our day where we see some awesome scenery or get a chance to do something neat. I thought it would be awesome to have one thread here in the forum where we all share those moments. It doesn't have to be anything awe inspring. It doesn't have to change the world or move anyone to tears. Anytime you're thinking, "Hey, this is pretty cool!" just shoot a picture of it and share it here.
This is mine from today. I'm on Poke-O-Moonshine which is a mountain on the outskirts of the Adirondacks. It's not one of the huge ones but it's right down the road from me and I go there all the time just for a good workout and the fun of being in the mountains with my doggy.
DAC:
Drive-A-Check Report
A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).
It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.
Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.
HOS:
Hours Of Service
HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
