WHOA! $500??? Now you're making me wonder if I have insurance on my phone just in case. That's a serious bummer.

Well, this is the second time in a year that I lost my phone. If I use the insurance, AGAIN, within the year, it gets canceled.

So here I am waiting at a receiver (Sam's Club Distribution Center in Cheyenne) and I fall asleep, while waiting, PARKED IN A DOCK (and disconnected from a trailer, but in front of it), when I WAKE UP. I actually thought I fell asleep while driving. I am still waiting to get the call inside to pay the $50 lumper fee, and collect the BOL's.

I actually thought I fell asleep while driving

OMG - everyone does that sometimes. It'll rock your world!

One of the funniest things I ever saw in my life happened at a truck stop. A guy pulled into a parking spot and parked with his nose to the trailer of the guy in front of him. Well he was so tired he fell asleep over his steering wheel with his truck still running.

Myself and the driver parked next to me happened to be sitting within sight of the guy when he woke up. He thought he fell asleep and was about to smash into the rear of the trailer that was 2 feet off the nose of his tractor. He started sawing on that wheel and jammin on that shifter. He was jumpin around and jammin on things so hard the tractor was shaking. The gears were just grinding as he was trying to jam the shifter into gear and you could hear his air brakes going "swish swish swish swish" in super fast succession as he pounded on that brake pedal over and over and over.

This spasm went on for about 6 seconds or so before he realized something was amiss and just froze. He stared straight ahead for a few seconds and then very slowly turned his head toward myself and the other driver who were watching the whole time. His eyes were as big as an owl's eyes, his mouth was hanging wide open, and his hair was sticking straight up all over the place. He was completely stunned and baffled, trying to figure out what the hell just happened!!!!

Let me tell ya - myself and the other driver that were watching - we burst out into the most legendary fit of laughter imaginable. We were both just ballin our eyes out we were laughing so hard!!! That dude's world was just rocked!!!! rofl-1.gif

I swear I don't think that dude will ever fully recover from that. It was one of the funniest things I ever saw!

Baffle:

A partition or separator within a liquid tank, used to inhibit the flow of fluids within the tank. During acceleration, turning, and braking, a large liquid-filled tank may produce unexpected forces on the vehicle due to the inertia of liquids.

I heard of a similar story (maybe it was in school) of a guy parked on an on ramp/off ramp. Parked on the shoulder, when he woke up there was a trailer in front of him, and he thought he was going to crash into the trailer.

Yes, people, it's like that. And Brett is right. It will definetely rock your world.

Some of you might have heard about that truck fire, here in Colorado. The tanker was scorched, and the truck burnt completely down to the frame. I didn't witness the fire, but both the "truck" or what was left of it, and the tanker were driven past Johnson's Corner, here in Loveland. I am sitting here waiting on a relay to PA.

Well, I stalled out on a hill in Arizona. Believe me, it was NOT fun. Actually, it sucked driving up hill the rest of the way in FIRST GEAR!

Ooooooooh that does suck! I've had trucks pop out of gear going up mountains and lost a lot of speed but fortunately I was able to find a gear before coming to a complete halt.

That's what I always loved about trucking - every day you wake up wondering what the world has in store for you and you just never know what that might be.

Today, the truck is in the shop. Radiator and clutch problems, mostly. Yesterday, after driving in tge mountains, I became sicker than a dog. While I feel a heck of a lot better today, than last night, I am still trying to figure out what made me sick. Was it "altitude sickness," or was it something I ate?

I should be getting my own truck this week. Maybe as early as today or tomorrow. Soon, it will be all on me, with no trainer.
