It hasn't happened yet, but either today or tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted.

I have my own truck. It is getting cleaned out right now. I have a local run later on tonight. I pick it up and bring it back to the yard, and then a team takes it in the morning.

Well I was taken off a load and put on another. I am waiting to relay a load to New Mexico. I wonder if my relay got lost?

Getting relays - or "re-powers" as they're often referred to by many companies - are often times a nightmare because either the driver you're waiting on lies about his E.T.A. or dispatch does. I don't know why they'll do that but it happens all the time. "Yeah, he'll be there in 3 hours"....five hours go by....seven hours go by....it drives you insane.

With this relay. She was delayed going in to pick up, in California. I had been up since six waiting in Arizona. The relay took place around 1 p.m. Like an idiot, I went on duty, thinking I could make it to Albuquerque by around nine or ten at night. I finaly was put on the load shortly after 6 p.m. local time. I had been off duty until that time , but...I was on duty earlier to accept the relay and do my pre-trip. Well nothing came on the Qualcomm. I must still be good.

Dave

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

A relay is when one person picks up the load, and another person delivers it. It might happen because one person, or a team might have requested "home time."
