Awesome! I look forward to hearing about your experience there
My CDL permit test is on Dec 17th. I'm chomping' at the bit and ready to go. I've been studying the High Road program and the state CDL manual and other practice tests until I know this stuff in my sleep. I know putting in time getting the studying now will pay off later. If all goes as planned, I will be on a bus headed to Joplin, MO on Wed Jan 3rd!

My last day at my old job was yesterday. CDL permit test on the 27th. And assuming I pass that, I'm scheduled to head to Joplin, MO on Jan. 6th. Excited and nervous at the same time. I have never been away from home for weeks at a time. However, I am determined to get the job done. Trucking Truth has been a great blessing filled with great information. I am glad I found this site. It is great to know what to expect from school and also getting into this industry. I like the fact that it is performance based. And if you ate willing to do what it takes to get the job done, you will thrive. Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you! I have been studying the program. Now I'm doing the practice tests to make sure I am retaining what I have learned.

All I used was the High Road CDL Training Program. That and some assorted pratice tests I found in different places on line. After going through High Road twice, by the time I took my permit tests, it was a piece of cake. Good luck.

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.
Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.

After, hours and hours of researching different trucking companies and schools, I chose CFI for training. Big thanks to Trucker Scott for his help and detailed diary. I have been in management for over 20 years and needed a change. I will do my best to update this diary often throughout the process. Looking forward to it!
