Brett, thank you so much for the help. Hopefully this helps alot of others
You're quite welcome, and it certainly will.
This question is for those whom said they run a UPS in-line with inverter, and c-pap: Okay so I am buying the recommended inverter Tripp-Lite 150w Ultra Compact w/12v DC cord for $20 (it was recommended by Cpap supply company, but I dont know what a good UPS would be for this. My cpap is a resmed airsense 10. I do not use the humidifier. So, can anyone give me an idea of what UPS or specs I should be looking for? I talked to a UPS supplier and they said they would need specs to help me and that the alarms on the battery of the UPS would be sounding continuously while on battery power plus the batteries wont last long in my particular useage because they would need to be charged 13+ hours everytime they get drained and this constant draing, and charge, and on and on would kill the batteries quickly. Advice?
Also, Brett Aquila the link you gave me was great! I got my loan request answer immediately, but sadly I was denied.
CPAP is a breathing assist device which is worn over the mouth or nose. It provides nighttime relief for individuals who suffer from Sleep Apnea.
I have this UPS: APC Back-UPS 600VA UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector with USB Charging Port (BE600M1)
I got it on Amazon for $58. You can also get that or something similar at Best Buy, Walmart, Staples, etc.
It has no problem lasting a night...and most of the time you'll be running some sort of smart idle anyway, unless you have an APU. My unit never runs out of power or beeps unless I shut the truck power off when taking days off.
I also have the AirSense 10 and find it to be a great unit. I would suggest that you use the humidifier, especially during heating season.
I'd suggest getting a better inverter than that little thing you mentioned. If you must start with that, fine. But you're likely to want a real invertor suitable for truck drivers. I have a 2500 watt inverter with truck battery protection circuitry hardwired. It was $450 installed. But you can get something decent for maybe $200. Every truck stop sells them, or you might find them for a little less in a store.
Best wishes...
Dave

Driving While Intoxicated
On tractor trailers, and APU is a small diesel engine that powers a heat and air conditioning unit while charging the truck's main batteries at the same time. This allows the driver to remain comfortable in the cab and have access to electric power without running the main truck engine.
Having an APU helps save money in fuel costs and saves wear and tear on the main engine, though they tend to be expensive to install and maintain. Therefore only a very small percentage of the trucks on the road today come equipped with an APU.

Bummer! Well it was worth a shot, anyhow.
So, after reading your replies I emailed my company, and the safety director (whom is the person I emailed directly) called me back on the phone with in a minute or two of sending the email. She said I am "stressing over something that isn't a big deal, and stay out of the forums." She added that alot of their drivers use cpaps and I can go buy an adapter or an inverter for the truck. This is hard for me to do. I currently have $750 coming in monthly and split $1200 rent with 3 other people. Which leaves my wife and I with barely any gas money for the month. I go out with this company in about 3 weeks, and next month our $750 income is cut down because my account is already in the hole over $150 and I need to go buy an inverter, and a UPS or an adapter? Inverters are $20 or more, and UPS are over $50. The adapter for my specific machine is over $180 minimum..... What do I do? Do I tell the only company that wants me (due to my background) to stuff it? I have literally applied to over 30 companies and been declined by everyone including the major carriers who hire anyone.
i was thinking about this. it is quite possible the company could front you the money and have you pay payments. for example, my sleep study was $500, the APAP was $600. Prime takes $80 per week from my check. I bought a refrigerator from them and they installed it, and i paid $100 per week out of my pay. we have a detail shop that installs equipment for us at a price deducted from our next pay. If i need a couple hundred dollars or my ATM card stops working for whatever reason they will advance me money. Of course im an established driver, but in Prime school they advance $200 per week to be paid back at $25 per week once hired. therefore im guessing a company might be willing or have a policy to do so. they want you to succeed.
Big Scott works for CFI and they too allow advamces. it is worth a shot to ask and see if something can be worked out. you might be surprised at your answer. the fact rhat you are making an effort to get things done the right way could also work in your favor. they could see you as an honest responsible guy.

Rainy D. My company doesn't seem to want to work with me on this. They say its on me. But now im worried I may not go to work at all now because I just got out of jail for assault and criminal mischief. Both misdemeanors im not going to tell my company until I'm actually convicted because I have the feeling charges may be dismissed at court. But I'm not sure my company is going to be ok with that

oh man that sucks. im sorry. its best to answer truthfully but not.more than asked. "Were you ever convicted" is different from "ever arrested". How long will it take because you sure don't want to be on the road and miss a court hearing you could have won only to get a warrant for not showing.
Don't rely on one company either. another company may be more understanding of the charges and handle the cpap issue differently.
Here's something...my inverter blew from the APAP (mine is an automated machine that fluctuates pressure from a preset range so its actually an APAP not a CPAP). turns out prime has stronger inverters for the cpaps but no one told me. So recently got mine replaced.
Ive been through three masks. it's not the masks. and this is not something im.planning on keeping. i feel worse and worse with it everyday and truly feel as though im being treated for something i dont have. i had no symptoms of head aches, fatigue or lack of concentration...UNTIL i started the machine. the first month i was so congested i was suffocating on the machine. like i said, i used Vicks by the air intake which helped. I sleep LESS with this stupid thing, and i have to make extra time to sleep to prevent being unsafe. if it works for others, awesome. but its not working for me.
nutrisystem here i come lol

Is seeing another doctor / getting a 2nd opinion an option?

I'm interested in this answer as well. I feel you should be allowed to get a second opinion, but would hate to be accused of "doctor shopping"
