Great food there, and it is the only terminal with a kitchen. Pack lots of warm clothes. That's a cold wind coming south off Lake Michigan. Good luck.
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Hey Robert. First of all, make sure you're really prepared for all of the materials you'll have to know by using our High Road CDL Training Program. Push through as much of that as you possibly can. The more you can learn now, the less stressful your life will be once you get there.
Also, you want a good understanding of how the trucking industry works. Read through our Truck Driver's Career Guide to get a better understanding of what to expect and how to handle it. Some parts won't apply, like choosing a trucking company, but most of it will.
Finally, a great place to learn about other people's experiences is in our CDL Training Diaries that people have kept over the years. Follow along as they go through training and you'll have a better understanding of what lies ahead.
Best of luck!

Right across the street from Schneider. Good luck. They repaved the road leading to the highway a couple of years ago, you will appreciate that. It used to be a nightmare. There isn't much around the area, you'll have to drive a few miles like 3-5 to get to anything.
