Not fishy, however not consistent with emails I received from my recruiter when I attended their school.
Ask your recruiter when you will be receiving additional information about your schooling, where to get the bus (if you need one) and the hotel accommodations. I had an email outlining all of it in advance...nothing was left to chance.
Also unless something has changed (and it may have), you will have a training agreement in place that is basically a contract where you agree to drive for a period of 12 months for Swift (once solo) in order to pay back 50% of your tuition (discounted). Otherwise if you leave before that period of time you will owe them the balance of the full rate of almost 4K. You are free to go wherever you want, but unless you are entering as a military veteran, you'll owe them money.
Any recent Swift Academy graduates please chime in...
I start Jan 29th. She did tell me to call her on the 15th 2 weeks before. So maybe she will send that then ?

Perhaps. If you get to the end of the call with her and she hasn't mentioned the additional information, I'd ask for it.
Hey Bryan, That's funny, Wendy is my recruiter also. I've been in contact with her for a few months now. She's set me up for the 3rd in Lewiston, Id. They won't do anything as far as background check until that 2 week prior mark. Tell her Jim F. says hi. She seems pretty straight forward. Good luck to ya.

It should be legit then. The concern is whether an outside recruiter of some sort might be making promises they can't keep. But if you're talking straight with the people at Swift then you should be able to trust what they say, especially if they put it in writing. Email does count as putting something in writing.
You should be fine.
