Sounds like you had a heck of a wake up call, eh? Glad to hear you made it through just fine. Trucking will scare the heck out of you from time to time. That won't be the last time but it sounds like you have plenty of experience in handling stress so you'll do great.

you will see alot of trucks on this route and I have no idea how some of them were doing the speeds they were but please take it slow your first time

I'm sure they were empty. That's one reason you can't use other trucks as a guide to what you should be doing. They also may have a lot of experience in that area and they know every inch of it.

Just take it super slow and enjoy the scenery out there! Also, make sure you stop every so often to check your chains and straps, especially early in the run.
