The mixed info has to do with which state you go to PSD. If in UT, you get the permit at home. In MO, you will transfer to MO, get the CLP and rake the written and road test then transfer the CDL back home once in the teaming stage.
its no big deal. MO DMV is really easy and fast. I did it as im from NJ.

Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.

If you are starting the program in Salt Lake City, UT, you will need to have your permit from your home state, already. If you start in Springfield, MO, you will get your permit after you get there.

When I went to Prime orientation in Dec 2016 I was told NOT to get my NY permit and to wait until I got to MO. That's what I did.
Ok good deal. A friend of mine working for Prime (but got his permit and cdl through another company prior) believed I should be able to get my permit in PA and then transfer it to MO and recommended I look deeper into it. I was under the impression as each of you noted to just wait until I get to MO to get the permit there. I appreciate the clarification from each of you!

It would be a waste of.money. they made my class transfer the CPL to MO. It was cheaper in MO than NJ so probably cheaper than PA too

I live in PA and will be going to Prime's student driver program in MO. Do I obtain my permit first in PA or wait until I arrive in MO and get the permit there? Finding mixed info on this subject so any advice from the experienced would be greatly appreciated!
