Still broke down.

The dealership found problems with the DPF during the drive test, so they said another day or 2, ugh.

This is so frustrating, but then I got to thinking. Yes, the breakdown pay is very minimal, but who else would pay you to sit at home and do nothing?

Since these are the issues that have effected my truck since I had her, I should be golden, when I get her back.

Daniel, your patience is admirable and an excellent example of professional conduct for others on the forum to emulate.

Considering the age of your steed and the mileage, have you asked for a newer truck? Maybe it's time.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Funny thing is after they get your truck back working, your company will probably start eyeing for the resale lot. Get rid of it before something else breaks. Especially if it has been a problem child for awhile.

No, I wouldn't. Get something newer than what you have and get rolling. Besides, they're not likely going to let your have your pick of brand new trucks out of the factory. You don't need a new one, just a newer one.

G Town, about the hotel issue....is it possible the planner didn't know of another available option?

At Prime, they will load our Comdata card so i can write a ComChek which i can either cash at a truck stop or deposit into my bank with my phone app. Then i just scan i the receipts.

is this an option?

A Danielsahn...hang in there. I loved my first truck but prime took it at 360k miles and gave me another. Now this ome is at 330k and im like "Nnnnnnoooooo dont take it. ive had them almost rebuild it in the last 8 months." We always talk about not owning a truck...but this is one is practically new lol OMG it took me forever to move.

That was a semi joke, Brett. smile.gif

I will take whatever they give me, if that is what they want to do.

Rainy: the only issues this truck has had since I had her was the def/dpf, and now it is being worked on. So she should be God for another 200k or more miles, which, leads to Patrick's point. I just talked to my Terminal Leader this morning, and he hinted that I have a new (for me) truck in my future.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I fought those issues in every company truck I drove and one I leased. The systems frankly are garbage in my opinion. The dealers always claim its a third party system and guess at things until they can patch it together long enough to get out of the shop. I have had terrible luck with emissions trucks.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
