Congratulations
Welp, today was my 2 year anniversary with West Side Transport. Life is good, the company treats me fantastic. My current trainee was shocked, because this past week was his first week on my truck and we got about 3400 miles lol. That's pretty typical miles for me so he was thrilled to see that if youre dependable and a "go to" driver there's plenty of miles and money to be made here.. oh and during training, we DO NOT team, so yeah it was a typical solo dispatch for me.
I also explained to him, if you're prone to lateness or a whiner, they'll treat you like an incorrigible child, punish you with crappy miles and make you want to quit. Typical of most companies, I would think.
I also explained to him, that I'm nothing special. A 55 year old woman and if I can do that well, so can anyone else who's willing to jump in feet first and run their truck efficiently and properly manage their hours.
Excellent stuff! Congrats on the anniversary and thanks for all your fab advice on this site. ๐
Keep on keepin' on! ๐
I'm a few months away from my 2 year mark. Time flies for sure. Congrats on sticking with it. These "starter" companies ain't too bad lol

Congratulations!
You've accomplished something very few new entrants into this career ever get to say they've done. Many try, but a large percentage of them can never grasp the things that make for an enduring and successful trucking career.
