Hi, Nick. Welcome to Trucking Truth. We have tons of resources for you.
Top left is a three-bar touch menu. Take it, look towards the bottom for Trucking Wiki, then look down that list for things like DOT drug, etc.
Also, search (top left search box) on one of your prescriptions. I tried "Venlafaxine" and got this List.
A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.
State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.
Keep in mind while DOT may allow some.meds or.conditions, companies may be more stringent with their requirements. You might do well to ask the company you are interested in.
I know one forum member here was sent home from Prime orientation for Trazadone. She switched meds and came back 30 days later. So that is always a possibility. She has now been here 18 mos or so and doing great.
As for Effexor, I was told by Primes doctor not within the last 3 years. I took it in 2011 when my sister died. got to prime in 2015. At that point the doctor said, "oh, that long ago is not a problem then". This led me to believe it would be a problem if currently on it.

Hi guys, I want to get into trucking in the next year or two and I have a question about the medications my doctor has me on. I've done a bit of googling on it and I haven't found these medications listed as a disqualification. One is Effexor XR (Venlafaxine), The other is Invega (Paliperidone). Does anyone have an official FMCSA list of disqualifying medications so i can check if these are listed, Or if anyone is taking these while driving letting me know would be a huge help too.
