The more posts I read, the more I see frustrations of drivers having LOTS of down time, waiting for loads, scheduling issues, etc. Call me crazy, but I believe I would ENJOY the down time, I could get caught up on sleep, reading, exercise, videos, computer games (I've got about 27 on this computer). I realize that I'm NOT getting paid during this time, but I just don't see it as being a big stress issue, quite the opposite in fact.

I can imagine stretching out in the sleeper, taking a nap, maybe getting a snack then getting caught up on TV or Netflix (IF I have signal), playing "Company of Heroes" or "Starcraft", maybe jogging around the lot and exercising. OF COURSE I haven't been on the road yet and it may be a WHOLE lot different than what I imagine. Am I WAY off base here? What do YOU guys do while waiting??

Gary, what do you think I do? rofl-1.gif

My computer is decked out with entertainment. About 130 GB of the best movies around and more games than I can handle.

My truck broke down, so I will be a loner for a few days. Today I spent my day cleaning my truck while listening to Cartalk on my Ipod and watching movies and playing games on my laptop.

I have:

Age of Empires II HD & III (with all xpac)

Skyrim

GTA Vice City, San Andreas, Libery City

Age of Mythology

Fallout New Vegas

As you can tell, I'm a huge nerd for RPG and strategy games. Name it and I've conquered it.

I just got done watching The Conjuring while eating a pineapple.

I don't mind a break, as long as its not for over 34 hours. So yes, there's plenty of things to do. Plus I can catch up on TruckingTruth, so hard to find the time when I'm running hard.

Before you leave for trucking, fill up your laptop with entertainment. You won't regret it.

Oh MAN! SWEET! May I recommend "Company of Heroes?" One of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE strategy games! It'll eat up hours and hours! LOVE Age of Empires as well!! Been thinking about Skyrim. That's more 'fantasy' stuff though right??

You won't regret Skyrim. Trust me.

I've burnt countless hours on that game and I'm still playing it from time to time.

I'll have to look into Company of Heroes. But I'm really addicted to AOE and AOM its hard to get away from those games. Haha.

I have also went to my local library and got my card, they have well over a 4000 audiobooks and movies that you can download when you have wifi. The best part is it is free....just another suggestion for the down time.
