Its 40k if you come in with a CDL and 30k if you go through PSD.
You will go back to Springfield, watch some CBTs like in orientation, take a SIM class for defensive driving, and a backing test on the SIM which is like 10 min...and pretty easy.
then there are cpany driver and log.classes that are optional and i highly recommend. then ALL drivers both company and lease go to leasing and get assigned a truck and fleet manager.
they give you paperwork to do a thorough inspection of the truck and will fix any major issues. then you will buy thw supplies you need ...they will give you a list, you go to driver line up and roll out with a load.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Prime Inc has a CDL training program and the first phase is referred to as PSD. You'll get your permit and then 10,000 miles of on the road instruction.
Prime’s PSD begins with you obtaining your CDL permit. Then you’ll go on the road with a certified CDL instructor for no less than 75 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training. After training, you’ll return to Prime’s corporate headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, for final CDL state testing and your CDL license.

That's an awful lot of acronyms! People are going to have to get an acronym to English dictionary to decipher that!

SIM is million dollar simulator that you better not call a video game or will be highly scrutinized and not taken seriously. Too many idiots come through and try to run other cars over.
One guy in my class woukdnt take it seriously and he was sent home. Immaturity gets you nowhere

Welcome to Prime where we have our own special language. One day there may be a class just for that ha ha.
After your trainer drops you off at Springfield, get yourself signed up for the upgrade classes. I believe they're held daily if I remember correctly. The classes are merely a refresher of everything you've already been taught. Nothing to stress over.
As soon as you finish the required steps, get yourself over to success Leasing and get on the waiting list for a truck ASAP. I don't know how backed up they are now, but when I upgraded there was a wait of a few days to a week for a truck. You will be paid for the wait time.
Don't be fooled by the name. Success leasing issues trucks to both lease drivers and company drivers. They're located in the Millenium complex.
The Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) is a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol program regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing, and aftercare.
Excellent info all, thank you kindly! Rainy, is Bobby from the Pittston terminal your Fleet manager?
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
No. Im dispatched out of MO despite being from NJ.
Also, can I get on the waiting list for a truck as soon as my trainer drops me off in Springfield, or do I need to complete the SIM lab, cbt's and paperwork first? As a company driver, how much leeway do you get with the truck you get, such as preferences etc?

Hey everyone. Was hoping to get some feedback from some of the experienced drivers who've gone through Primes training program.
I'm a bit over half way through my 40k miles until I upgrade to A seat, and was curious what the process entails after I complete the 40k miles. Will my trainer take me back to Springfield, or since I live in PA, will I go to Pittston? What should I expect upon completion of the 40k miles? At what point do I go about getting in my own truck, etc?
Anyone with Prime that wouldn't mind chiming in with some feedback, would be greatly appreciated!
