I also have a question but didn't want to start a whole new thread. For Prime I had to read through the Missouri CDL manual, here recently I've read the Florida CDL manual; I noticed that most if not all of the information given is identical and am curious if all state manuals were the same? If not, what are the differences? I would think that since CDL drivers typically drive across the nation it would be standardized. Just curious please let me know. Thanks.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
