I don't have a reason, but I like the new one. But I also dislike change. It's strange, I know....
I think it looks great, Brett!
Looks good to me. I'm not sure if the update affects this but I'm doing the High Road Training Program and when "3/4" is suppose to shown it comes up as question mark in a diamond.
I always go direct to the forum, so I forgot what the earlier Home Page was like.
The top is very plain (grey with a blue bar). How about a trucking photo in the background? Also the anonymous three bars at the top left are really a gateway to the whole web site. A little arrow with "Click here for more" to get all the resources to pop out.
To help people (nowadays they may have a short attention span) get down the page, a list of page links at the top with the section titles to click on that will drop the visitor down to topics. This also hints at the vast resources we offer.
Final note: there is a "Apply For Paid CDL Training" blocks at both the top and bottom. Too much?
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Very well organized and chalked full of information. I agree with Errol V. In that photo’s would be inviting. Maybe not one but something like a sliding photo book or something. Also, going a little further into trucking more that just CDL studies would be nice. Important routes to remember, what gear is better than others, bridge clearance warning spots and such. In short, things a person is likely to experience or encounter once a CDL is obtained and the new career is underway. Maybe even information on the different Diesel engines for those without any mechanical experience; for instance I grew up with a single mom and no father figure so I have no idea where to locate a water pump for the radiator. (Thanks to YouTube I know to follow the lines leading to and from to find it.)

I like it...very clean and easy to navigate.
Ok so I've updated our homepage and I was hoping to get opinions from everyone.
Are there important things I've left out?
Is the information organized well?
Any opinions you guys have please throw em at me. Thanks!

The only thing I would say is to remove the "Apply For Paid CDL Training" from the top of the page. The Home Page and forum itself are great!

I agree with this also. Havin that apply link up at the top of the page seems to me as too much pressure for applications. Keepin it only on the bottom as suggested would probably attract more people to the site since it seems based upon that layout to give a no pressure approach to the research and then ultimately applying for CDL Trainin. Just my $0.02.
Otherwise this forum by far is the BEST place for information on a career in truckin because you have people from all walks of life on here, rookies to truly experienced drivers willing to give the best advice in the friendliest and most respectful manner.

I'll add to this suggestion. Maybe a section that explains, in detail and pictures, what kind of everyday maintenance a driver can perform with no prior mechanical knowledge or power tools. Been looking around for a "Truck Maintenance for Dummies" kind of thing, but no real hits.
