Very grateful for all of you taking the time to share all your collective wisdom of so many years in this industry. I know from reading so many threads of how everyone rose to the challenges they faced.
My CDL does not say I’m am less or more than anyone else. It doesn’t state how long it took me to pass each exam it only says I have the basic skills to develop into a capable, safe & reliable asset to Prime Inc.
It’s up to me to grow, to be patient & to make safety my daily goal & to get the job done by being early on my loads at both the shipper & receiver. I have a great TNT trainer. I’m shut down for the night after leaving Sprimo early this morning.
Again, thank you all for pulling for me. For sharing your wisdom, without any gloss or sugar coating. Because of all you, I’m challenging myself in ways I have never imagined possible.
Let me also say this, if I hadn’t found trucking truth, I’d be in a world of hurt right now. I would’ve signed up for a driving school that didn’t have a certification program. I would’ve never had the preparation tools like Daniel’s pretrip & the High Road training program to prepare me for my CLP & the exams.
Thank you Thank you Thank you.

TNT:
Trainer-N-Trainee
Prime Inc has their own CDL training program and it's divided into two phases - PSD and TNT.
The PSD (Prime Student Driver) phase is where you'll get your permit and then go on the road for 10,000 miles with a trainer. When you come back you'll get your CDL license and enter the TNT phase.
The TNT phase is the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with an experienced driver for 30,000 miles of team driving. You'll receive 14¢ per mile ($700 per week guaranteed) during this phase. Once you're finished with TNT training you will be assigned a truck to run solo.
CLP:

Before getting their CDL, commercial drivers will receive their commercial learner's permit (CLP) upon passing the written portion of the CDL exam. They will not have to retake the written exam to get their CDL.
