See.... This is why I don't train.
I'll refrain from using offshore / military language.
Even though I read the OP throwing the race card out there, I didn't address it in my 1st reply. Now that it's out there..... I'm a dark skinned man of Hispanic descent. My trainer plays far, far, I mean far right videos the whole day. The whole send them back (both black & Hispanic) to their country, white nationalism playlist. Should this behavior at the workplace be acceptable? Of course not. But is it something that's tolerable for 2 or 3 (in the OP case 5) weeks in exchange for the prize? Yea. If anything it's the fact that my safety is in jeopardy (see my diary for the highlights) that is the worst thing to deal with on a daily basis.
There are people that go through life just waiting for the opportunity to be offended. Listening to the tone of the OP, I'm certain he's one of these types. If it wasn't the "boy" thing, he would have found something else to be mortally offended by. Who the hell starts a new job & doesn't understand that after you're shown how to do the work, you're the one that's gonna do it not the trainer?!
OP - rascism is real & it's wrong. But in this case the racism if any that you faced would not have kept you from progressing if you would have done one thing - put your purse down. Now you're sitting there patting yourself on the back. One more thing; make sure my Big Mac has extra pickles on it.

Ok, all i've seen and thought of this entire thread was ****roaches!!!!! How many of you would of stayed on his truck knowing from day one that the cab of that truck was infested with roaches? Guess I endured it in the Navy in our berthing area on a ship many a moons ago, but.......

Man talk about bouncing back.I scored a six figure car hauling contract with my 2015 dually lest than a week after being told i couldnt switch trainers and sent home. How people confuse this with quitting ill never know.It all makes sense now.Time to really work smarter not harder!!!
Jeremy, we Browns fan show our loyalty and intestinal fortitude by sticking by them. I grew up in the 70's and they bad then also. Danielsahn, wouldn't it be cool to see a Browns-Lions Superbowl? They are the last of the early teams to never get to a Superbowl.
Intestinal Fortitude
Hmmmmm... I was never sure if that was from sticking by 'em or from stadium food!
Went to my first game back in the 70's. Been an unfortunate fan ever since... Though, in act of transparency, I almost became a basketball fan a few years ago. Almost.

Is that so? Wow, sounds like you hit the jackpot. We'd love to hear some details about this contract. Maybe it's something others would be interested in pursuing.
How many miles will you be turning yearly?
Do they pay by the mile?
What was required for insurance to cover you?
Are you a sole proprietor, LLC, or corporation?
Is it your trailer or theirs?
Give us some info. We'd love to learn more about this gig.

Hey Diver, tonight I was just telling my brother about your name and avatar here on the site and he was wondering if he might know ya... His name is Jesse and he used to dive with Bisso down in N'Orleans. Ring any bells...?

Mad respect for ya Villain! Hopefully you're training time runs down pretty quickly (and safely.) It gets greater, later!

Brandon, I personally "confuse it with quitting" because, well, ya quit. That's something you have to live with, not me. So, if you're good with it (or maybe even doing better now, as you posted) then great for you. Why it was done or what it lead to are merely peripheral issues - regardless of all that, ya walked away, and to me that's quitting. I don't wish nothing bad on ya (and doubt anyone else here does either.) If you landed something better as a result of your quitting, then great! It worked out for the best. It doesn't change history, but maybe it will make for a better future. Congratulations!

Wow, I'm dumbfounded!
I guess Brandon showed us a thing or two. We thought he was a reject, and now he's making six figures with a one ton pick-up truck.
Hopefully he will come back with more details so we can learn a thing or two from his success story.

Right?? I actually already own a one ton and am now seriously thinking of quitting Maverick this week. My trainer made me answer every question with a yes or no “sir”and never called me by my actual name-this has scarred me for life and really ruined flat bedding for me.
I can’t wait to meet a 500 lb flatbedder!
