I have a question about whether or not having a stutter or stammer when you talk would discredit someone from getting their cdl. Would that limit their ability to do their job? Thanks.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I stutter. I have yet to encounter a problem with it. It is not as bad as it used to be, except when I get excited, or nervous. You will be fine. 🙂

Yup. Can't Think of one damn thing that would be affected by that.

Not sure how far your interest go or what you've looked into so far, but there's tons of information here on this site. And some of the best advice to be found in the industry from real truckers right here. Just ask anything...

In the mean time, since I don't know what you've looked at it thought about so far, might I suggest some reading here on this site...

I stutter. I have yet to encounter a problem with it. It is not as bad as it used to be, except when I get excited, or nervous. You will be fine. 🙂
