Well for the folks that replied to me about which company to go with, and believe me it is a hard and I mean a really hard decision to make. I am going with Crete Carrier. I get my date to attend orientation the closer I get to graduation from school. They want to make sure they have a trainer lined up for me. Will be heading to Pa for 3 days then out on the road for 4 weeks then if all goes well get my own truck. Really want to say thanks for all the help and advice that people gave. This site is great for the new guys coming in and really enjoy reading about everything that goes with the trucking game. To all have a great Holiday season and be safe out there.

Scott, I don't think we've been able to follow a rookie going thru Crete...so I'd really like you to try and keep us updated on your training. AND...we may be able to help you along the way !! Besides...we kinda get attached to our rookies...and like to know how they are doing, and their progress....I'm the mother hen, after allsmile.gif

Hey congrats Scott! That's great news!

Starcar is right. We don't get a lot of people that come through here and go with Crete so I'd love to hear how things go for you also.

I know Crete was always one of the only carriers in the country that gives their drivers a choice of loads whenever there's more than one available. I would have killed for that. It pretty much never happens. That's a great feature!

Thanks both Starcar and Brett will do. I am really looking forward to the new challenge, just retired in may of this year from the navy after 24 great years and I think this job is going to give me what I want with the upward mobility and freedom of being on my own, just really looking forward to it. I will start a diary page here as soon as training starts along with a Video diary as well and that can be followed on youtube at Tigerhawk757. again thanks to all that that gave great insight into the trucking world and hope to make a lot of new friends out there on the road.
