What kind of gift would be appropriate?

I gave my FM a spill-proof, vacuum-insulated coffee cup from Contigo (<$20 on sale). Simple, inexpensive, keeps her coffee hot all day and sits on her desk acting as a reminder of her favorite driver.

Fm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

I've bought mine pizza from Papa Johns when I was on the yard.

Hes a genuinely nice guy, so I don't mind at all taking care of him; he takes care of me.

I have taken my FM to lunch before when I have been on hometime in Cedar Rapids.

Simple but try to find out what s/he likes. Ask someone else in the company who knows your FM.

Restaurant gift certificates are appreciated by most people...especially if you put some thought into it and find out what their favorite spot is and get a certificate for that once or twice a year (since this will be a large expense). On a more frequent basis, take 'em a small item you know they'll like.

What kind of gift would be appropriate? Could I go all out for a gift or could I keep it simple?

TWIC:

Transportation Worker Identification Credential

Truck drivers who regularly pick up from or deliver to the shipping ports will often be required to carry a TWIC card.

Your TWIC is a tamper-resistant biometric card which acts as both your identification in secure areas, as well as an indicator of you having passed the necessary security clearance. TWIC cards are valid for five years. The issuance of TWIC cards is overseen by the Transportation Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
