Wow, you guys have my respect.

Twitch.. i suggest you keep reading blog articles written by G Town, Old School and me. You said on another thread you want to learn all you can.... dont bother with the complainers who quit or got fired due to their own lack of commitment or poor attitude.

Many of us are still at our starter companies after years. I've been here att prime 4.5 years, and im not going anywhere.

attitude is everything in trucking.

While learning via Internet what is in store for me, this site is the best for many reasons. It's mostly positive and y'all keep the negativity to a minimum.

Yes, I was falling into the trap of looking ahead after a year when I haven't even started training, yet. That's 2 1/2 weeks away. But I started reading comments and posts on other sites that made me feel as if that was just "The way it works".

But reading all of the helpful articles and information on Trucking Truth make me realize that doesn't have to be the case. I am patient and understand that I will have to work my way up and earn respect, just like anywhere else in life and prefer to start with a company that I can grow with instead of keeping my eye on something that I haven't even earned, yet.

I was torn between Wilson Logistics because I really wanted to drive the Western U.S., and Millis, who has an excellent reputation. I finally decided on Millis because they have so many drivers who quit, went other places, but came back, That says a lot to me.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your knowledge and insights.

EPU:

Electric Auxiliary Power Units

Electric APUs have started gaining acceptance. These electric APUs use battery packs instead of the diesel engine on traditional APUs as a source of power. The APU's battery pack is charged when the truck is in motion. When the truck is idle, the stored energy in the battery pack is then used to power an air conditioner, heater, and other devices

How fitting this thread popped up........

I would like to congratulate G-Town on his hard work and his commitment to Swift and his account. He recently informed me that he made Diamond Status. dancing-dog.gif
