5.) Wagon Wheel-Old Crow Medicine Show

It’s great to see this one listed. I’m actually going to see them live here in town tomorrow night.

I’ve been thinking about this subject over the last few weeks. If anyone uses Spotify, there is a group feature where people can join and add their own songs to make a group playlist. I think that would be pretty sweet for the members here to have a shared playlist to be able to listen to what others are listening to and possibly discover some new music. Truckin’ tunes would be a good name.

One of my all time favorites is driving my life away but the one that Rhett Akins did for the movie black dog and not the Eddie Rabbit version.

Here's a great version of that song by a group called 'Against Me!'

Talking about music, I forgot to mention one of my all time favorite singers, Chris LeDoux. Very unique style of singing. He was the real thing, a rodeo champion, singer, songwriter, musical storyteller and he died way too young at 56.

If you’ve never heard him, you owe it to yourself to listen to him sing at least once.

I recently heard his son Ned's cover of This Cowboy's Hat and he definitely did him justice.

I’m sure most of you won’t like mine but I’m a softy when it comes to music, this is basically my morning music routine lately, and it doesn’t even make sense lol

The first trucking-related song I remember hearing/loving as a child was Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler) by Alabama. When I hear it now as a new driver, it reminds me that I'm finally living my dream.

I decided to look him up on YouTube to get a listen. I hadn't heard him before, so I was curious. I am a classically trained vocalist, and I will say with my trained ear that this guy has some pipes. Very much a more crisp and clear sound than most country singers. Genuinely impressed.
