If you are really clean, go to Quest, or similar labs in your area, take your own hair and urine tests, call and talk to recruiters, and tell them you can submit copies of results, but to be honest, it may not help, if the other company shows you as submitting a cold test.

I hope you are clean, and wish you well, but to be honest, I don't see how you could have had a cold specimen unless you tried to cheat, and that is not wise. I've had people tell me they can pass a drug test even though they use whatever type drug, and all I say is you will eventually get caught.

BMI:

Body mass index (BMI)

BMI is a formula that uses weight and height to estimate body fat. For most people, BMI provides a reasonable estimate of body fat. The BMI's biggest weakness is that it doesn't consider individual factors such as bone or muscle mass. BMI may:

  • Underestimate body fat for older adults or other people with low muscle mass
  • Overestimate body fat for people who are very muscular and physically fit

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.

With that being said, regardless of what you think, unless you were there you don’t know what happened. I can tell you that I almost gave up, but that’s not my character. Should anyone have any helpful tips or ideas I am open to hearing. If all you want to do is belittle me, save it. I understand that they’re are plenty of guys out there that are trying to beat the system but I’m not one.

You say that you are not trying to beat the system but you tried to cheat your drug test; which is illegal in many states. My advice is to be honest with companies that you are applying for and to stay clean.

I do wish the best for you and I hope you achieve your goals.

OMG! You are hilarious!

Forget about trucking, you should be in stand-up comedy! Those are the only guys I know of who can make a living with the crazy stories they tell. Come to think of it, I don't think they have to be drug tested either.

One common characteristic I've discovered over the years about people who lie is that they will stick to their story and keep adding layers to it after it's obvious they've been caught. One of their most common themes is to make it sound as if they are more virtuous than everyone else and that there is a grand purpose in what they are doing which justifies their actions. Kind of like this statement...

My plan is to provide jobs for people coming out of prisons and rehabs l, because believe it or not, they are people too. There’s already a company in Ohio that has a CDL school in a prison and are hiring inmates as soon as they make parole. The world is changing quickly.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

What is strange I just had a random DA and alcohol tests. I was talking to the lady and she said the guy before me had a cold sample. She said that since it was on his own insurance and not a company she had to accept it. WTH

Thanks for digging up this post, I had forgot all about it on my vacation. I never read some of the other posts and did for entertainment purposes. I know of Suboxone because of a cousin, excoworkers son, and an inlaw.

Times are rough. And while I understand that times are the way they are , I refuse to not call BS when I see or hear it.

For the original poster you may infact be sober, I don't know. But if you are you should've done your homework sooner and figured out how long they go back. And your specimen wouldn't be cold for no reason. You still tried to cheat.

Get clean. And come back. It's not a week or two... try a year or two. Hopefully someone will give you a shot at that time. GOOD LUCK!

I have taken enough urine tests to know that the little black strip on the bottom is the one that records the temperature of the urine. I have never ever had one that was a cold sample. I have had more of them than I can count on hands and toes. I am a former addict and 3 time convicted felon. However I came out of the depths of hell alive and have had a good run in the trucking industry. I will say this, you cannot BS a BS’R you are only fooling yourself. How come you didn’t say anything at that moment and give another U/A? If I was as adamant as you are on here, you really should have been that adamant then at that moment and subjected yourself to another U/A. Those temp gauges or the thermometer the nurse used was probably pretty accurate.

I hope for the sake of everyone out on the road that you never get behind the wheel of a semi when you have that crap in your system. To many holes in the story and past posts leads us to believe differently about what you are saying and how it all went down. I am very glad that companies and clinics are getting better at detecting this kind of stuff.

Just be glad it happened the way it did, and not after a major catastrophe. You saved yourself some serious headaches

And for the record, Jason deserves a gold star!!

The man has been there done that and still called BS. Jason good on you for getting out of it!!

DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

CWV this was my response to the OP two weeks ago...like you, I too cannot be silent when I read blatant BS and story telling.

You cheated and got caught. Your story of the retest is BS and you know it.

Real advice? Take responsibility for your actions and accept accountability. This is a life lesson now. Don’t forget it.

Beyond that...I suggest another career path because the door on this one is likely closed for the foreseeable future.

You, Jason and OS added the exclamation points. Thanks for keeping it real.

Hey Everyone!

I've been on this site for awhile now, but this is my first post. I continue to learn lesson after lesson here from all of you and I so much appreciate all the help you have given me. Brett, the High Road Training Program is awesome! I have not finished everything, but still going.

Chris, Long story short, I had gotten into some legal trouble years ago. Possession of less than 1 g of a controlled substance. Stupid, dumb, childish choice. Anyway, during my probation period, I had to take pee tests every month for YEARS. The only way to have a "cold" sample is to bring in urine that has not been heated properly. That's it. There is no other explanation. You got a ton of responses here. I can't speak for everyone, but if I've learned one thing on Trucking Truth is the writers, technical advisers and moderators all talk about (and expect) accountability. Just be honest. I think a big part of trucking is accountability and that's why everyone here is so adamant about it. Taking responsibility for anything that happens in your control. Being late for a load, accidents, you get the picture. I am prepared for that. I've made a ton of mistakes in my life but I have overcome a lot by being brutally honest and owning up to everything I did and taking responsibility for my actions. That's the only way to get past life's challenges in my opinion. I don't think anyone here was trying to be mean. Plain and simple, they can see past the B.S. Seems like everyone here combined has a TON of life experiences and call it how they see it. Personally, I like to be called on my sh**t. Keeps me in line, so to speak. I sincerely hope you get past all of this and get the job you want. Just stay clean and that way, you don't have to worry about drug testing. It amazes me how many people want to know if a company does hair follicle or urine. If you're clean, what difference does it make? I'm coming to Prime this weekend (yeah) and the last thing I'm worried about is the drug test. I do wish you well though and hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks again, everyone, and I hope to meet some of you someday on the road!

Thanks for the welcome, Old School!

I'm not usually one for putting my private stuff out there, but I was just trying to prove a point. I will post more on my journey as I go through it. I've seen so many diaries on here and it really has helped me prepare to be a "Primate." LOLthank-you.gifthank-you.gif

Anyway, take care and be safe out there!
