Hey, welcome aboard! Glad to have ya!
Really sorry to hear about the job situation but now you're ready to start on a whole new adventure so that's really great!
Choosing a community college is usually an excellent choice. Their prices are usually real competitive and their curriculum is put together well. So I expect that should work out well for ya.
Make sure you go through the Logbook and Weight & Measure sections of The High Road Training Program. That stuff is critically important but unfortunately it really doesn't get covered in the CDL manual and the schools don't cover it well either. The Logbook rules are a bear to learn at first so expect to be thoroughly confused for a while. But stick with it and it will come around.
Looking forward to following along with ya!
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.
Operating While Intoxicated
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
